Lightning Sentry Assassin

The Lightning Sentry Assassin (Lightning Trapsin) is one of the most popular and effective Assassin builds, functioning as a "trap turret" character that deploys lightning-shooting sentries to eliminate enemies automatically. This build offers exceptional safety by fighting from range through minions, excellent crowd control, and good damage scaling. The Lightning Trapsin excels at both PvM content and PvP scenarios while being relatively gear-independent compared to other builds. First you need to add a single point to the following skills: Wake Of Fire, Blade Fury, Blade Sentinel, Fade, Burst of Speed, Shadow Warrior, Shadow Master, Cloak of Shadows, Mind Blast and Claw Mastery. Next max out the following skills: Lightning Sentry, Death Sentry, Shock Web and Charged Bolt Sentry.

For your Attributes, add enough Strength to wear your gear. Next add Dexterity to get to max block if you are using that build. Do not add any Energy and put the rest into Vitality.

Weapon you'll want either a Rare Claw, a Heart of The Oak or a +6 Trap skills claw, Main hand and offhand. For your Shield, if you chose to get one, go for a Spirit Monarch or a StormShield. Next for your Armor, go for an Enigma, you can also go for a Chains Of Honor. Helmet, you'll want to get a Griffon, a Shako or a Rare Circlet with 2 skills and 20 Faster Cast Rate. Gloves go for a Laying of Hands or a Magefist for Faster Cast Rate. Belt, you need to get an Arachnid Mesh. For your Boots, go for a Sandstorm Trek or a War Traveler for Magic Find. Rings, you ll want Stone of Jordan or Rare Rings with Faster Cast Rate and other bonuses. Amulet, go for a Mara's Kaleidoscope or a Crafted Amulet with 2 to skills and 20 Faster Cast Rate.

For your inventory, start with a HellFire Torch and an Annihilus Charm. You'll want to also get a few Trap Skill Charms and some Small Charms with Resistances and Life or Faster Hit Recovery.

Get an Act 2 Mercenary with an Infinity in a Thresher base, a Vampire Gaze or a Andariel's Visage. Armor wise, you'll need an Ethereal Archon Plate Fortitude. Treachery is also a viable option that is cheaper. Make sure to select Holy Freeze Aura when selecting the Merc.
