The Poison Javelin Amazon relies on kitting, waiting for the poison damage to annihilate the enemies, the damage being over time, it is perfect type to hit and run while enemies die while trying to catch up with you, first you must assign 1 skill point to the following: Power Strike, Lightning Strike, Charged Strike, Pierce, Penetrate, Valkyrie, Decoy, Inner Sight, Critical Strike and Dodge. Once you have added a point to those, max out the follow skills: Poison Javelin, Plague Javelin and Lightning Bolt. Any remaining points can be added to Slow Missiles, Lightning Strike or Valkyrie.

Stats wise, you should start by acquiring an HellFire Torch and an Annihilus Charm, put those in your inventory before assigning your attributes, put only what is necessary in Strength to wear the gear, if you are using a shield put enough points into Dexterity to get to Max Block (75% Block). Next put no points into Energy and the rest into Vitality.

When it comes to gear, Weapon should be Ethereal Titan's Revenge or a Rare Javelin if that is an option for you. Next for Shield, we recommend using StormShield for Survavibility, the Armor the best option Enigma Dusk Shroud. You can also go with Bramble for more Poison Damage. Helmet wise, Valkyrie Wing and Shako are great options for this build. In terms of Gloves, we recommend either Laying of Hands or Rare Gloves with 2 Skills to Javelin as well as 20 Increased Attack Speed. For Belt, go with Razortail or you can go for a Survivability option like String of Ears or a Rare Belt with 24% Faster Hit Recovery and added bonuses. The Boots you have a few choices, for Magic Find, War Traveler is a great option, otherwise you can get a Sandstorm Trek which gives bonus Poison Resistances or Rare Boots with 30% Faster Run/Walk and Resistances. For the Rings, Raven Frost preferably 20 Dexterity and a Stone of Jordan or a Rare Ring with some Poison Damage or Resistances and other bonuses. The Amulet you can go for a Cat's Eye or a Mara's Kaleidoscope for skill bonuses as well as Resistances.

For inventory, 313 Poison Damage Charms tend to be the best option, the 451 variant is stronger but also rarer and tend to be on the pricier side. You can also get a few 7% Faster Run/Walk Skill Charms if you are going for the Bramble option for Armor. Otherwise, Charms with Resist, Faster Hit Recovery or Life are a good option. Do not forget a high stats HellFire Torch and Annihilus Charms.

Mercenary, your best option is an Act 2 Merc wtih an Insight or an Obedience in a Thresher Base. Armor get an Ethereal Archon Plate Fortitude and the Helmet Andariel's Visage or Vampire Gaze. Best to get either a Might Merc or an Holy Freeze Aura when it comes to the type of Mercenary.
