War Cry Barbarian Build

The War Cry Barbarian (Warcry Barb) is a unique caster-style build that uses sonic attacks instead of traditional melee combat. War Cry provides area magic damage and stunning effects while Battle Cry reduces enemy damage and defense. This unconventional build offers a distinctive "sonic warrior" playstyle that excels at crowd control and magic damage in a completely different approach to barbarian gameplay.

First thing to do is allocate 1 point in the following Skills: Bash, Sword Mastery, Howl, Taunt, Shout, Battle Cry, Battle Orders, Grim Ward, Find Potion, Find Item, Leap, Leap Attack, Concentrate, Berserk, Whirlwind, Iron Skin, Natural Resistance, Increased Stamina, Increased Speed, and Battle Command. After this max out the following Skills: War Cry, Battle Orders, Shout, Battle Command. With your extra points, max out Battle Cry for enemy debuffing and then War Cry synergies if any additional points remain.

When it comes to your Attributes, start with acquiring a Hellfire Torch and an Annihilus Charm. Put those in your inventory and then add Strength, enough to wear your gear. Dexterity should be minimal unless needed for weapon requirements. Energy can be beneficial for this build due to mana costs of War Cry spam, but gear can compensate. The rest of your points should go into Vitality for survivability.

Best Weapon choices include Heart of the Oak Runeword in a Flail for the +3 Skills, Faster Cast Rate, and resistances. Spirit Runeword is a budget alternative with good +skills and Faster Cast Rate. Other options include Suicide Branch for the +1 All Skills and Faster Cast Rate, or rare weapons with +skills and Faster Cast Rate. Shield wise, you will need a Spirit Monarch for the +2 Skills, Faster Cast Rate, and resistances. Alternative options include Lidless Wall or rare shields with +skills. When it comes to your Armor, Enigma Runeword in a Mage Plate base is Best in Slot for the +2 Skills and Teleport utility. Skin of the Vipermagi is an excellent alternative with +1 Skills and 30% Faster Cast Rate. Budget options include Stealth Runeword for Faster Cast Rate and movement. Helmet, Harlequin Crest is ideal for the +2 Skills, life, and mana. Lore Runeword is a budget alternative with +1 Skills. For Gloves, Magefist provides +1 Fire Skills and 20% Faster Cast Rate, or Trang-Oul's Claws for 20% Faster Cast Rate. For the Belt, Arachnid Mesh is perfect with +1 Skills and 20% Faster Cast Rate. Goldwrap is a budget alternative with useful stats. When it comes to Boots, War Traveler for Magic Find and stats, or Sandstorm Trek for Faster Hit Recovery and survivability. Rings, Stone of Jordan provides +1 Skills and mana, pair with Bul-Kathos' Wedding Band for +1 Skills and life leech. Amulet you can opt for Mara's Kaleidoscope for +2 Skills and resistances, or a rare amulet with +2 Barbarian Skills, Faster Cast Rate, and life.

For your inventory, focus on Barbarian Skill Charms with +Warcries Skills and life bonuses. Small Charms with 7% Magic Find and resistances or life and resistances. Faster Hit Recovery Small Charms are valuable for reaching breakpoints. Gheeds Fortune for Magic Find and reduced vendor prices.

Mercenary wise, an Act 2 Nightmare Defensive mercenary with Holy Freeze Aura works excellently for crowd control synergy.
